Women's Track and Field Heads to Raleigh Relays, Jim Taylor Invite

LEWISBURG, Pa.—The Bucknell University women's track and field team will head to two different meets this weekend. Part of the team will head to the Raleigh Relays on Friday and Saturday, while another group will compete at the Jim Taylor Invite in Selinsgrove, Pa. on Saturday.
The Raleigh Relays will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra for a two-hour period each day, the time is still to be determined.

About the Bison/Bison Notes
- Bucknell finished seventh out of 11 teams at its outdoor debut on March 23 at the Penn Challenge. Penn won the meet with 182 points, followed by Army (102), Villanova (97.5), Columbia (59), and Temple (57). St. John's (50), Bucknell (45.5), Georgetown (41), Rider (40), La Salle (20), George Washington (11), and Lehigh (11) rounded out the field.
- Maura Fiamoncini and Kaitlin Salisbury each garnered event wins on Saturday, with Salisbury winning the 100 with a time of 12.23 to beat out a field of 14 other competitors, including Yasheika Beckaroo from Army, who placed fourth in the 60 at the Patriot League Indoor Championships.
- Fiamoncini used a toss of 158-8 to easily qualify for ECAC's by over 23 feet. She now holds the top mark in the Patriot League, and her throw ranks 21st in the country early on in the season.
- Sydney Contrino cleared 5-3 in the high jump to finish in fourth place, while Alexandra Butz was seventh after clearing 5-1.
- Delia Sipe placed sixth in the discus with a toss of 141-8, an ECAC standard. She also placed seventh in the shot put after a throw of 42-4.75.
- Becca Rooney added points in the 400 after running a time of 59.49.
- Molly Montalvo fell just short of an ECAC standard in the hammer throw after recording a 167-0 to finish sixth.
- The 4x400 team of Tia Tardy, Harper Stewart, Gianna Mincone, and Salisbury also took fifth with a time of 4:03.26.
- The Bison opened the outdoor season at the Jim Taylor Invite in 2018.
- Fiamoncini smashed the previous school record in the javelin, breaking the previous school record by over 25 feet with a toss of 184-5.
- Salisbury also won the 100m dash at the meet last year with a 12.41, while Montalvo moved into the number five spot on Bucknell's all-time list in the hammer throw after a heave of 175-6.
- Danielle Line finished in first place in the discus throw at last year's meet.
