MORAGA, Calif. – Bucknell softball wrapped up a 13-game trip to California with two final games Saturday at the Saint Mary's Tournament. The Bison repeated their results from the day before, beating Manhattan 4-3 in nine innings before falling to Saint Mary's 6-1.

The Bison will head back to Lewisburg with a 10-15 record and will turn their attention to the first league series of the season. Colgate comes to Becker Field to play three Patriot League games against the Bison on March 23-24.
Bucknell 4, Manhattan 3 (9 innings)
Lauren Hadley scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning, and Raeanne Geffert struck out 13 batters in a complete-game outing as the Bison edged Manhattan, 4-3.

With the international tiebreaker rule in effect, Hadley was placed on second to start the ninth inning. She advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt and score on the play because of an error.

Geffert didn't let the Manhattan runner past second in the bottom of the ninth. She got out of the inning with ease, getting a flyout followed by back-to-back strikeouts. She finished the game with 13 strikeouts while issuing just one walk. The junior gave up six hits.

The 13 strikeouts matched a career-high for Geffert. She fanned 13 against Austin Peay last season.

Both teams went scoreless through three innings before Bucknell got on the board with a sacrifice fly by Anna Gimmestad in the fourth.

The Bison scored with an RBI single by Taylor Wolfgang in the sixth inning, but saw Manhattan answer in the seventh. They scored on an RBI groundout by Rivait in the top of the eighth, but the Jaspers responded again with a run in the bottom half of the inning.

Bucknell finished with seven hits, including a single and double as part of a 2-for-2 game by Sarah Baluch. Hadley singled twice, Marisa Alemany tripled, and Wolfgang and Hom each singled.

Lauren Pitney paced Manhattan with a solo home run. The Jaspers dropped to 6-8 on the season.

Saint Mary's 6, Bucknell 1
Saint Mary's tallied 10 hits, including three for extra bases as it handed Bucknell a 6-1 loss. The Gaels improved to 6-14.

Bucknell scored its lone run on an RBI single by Wolfgang in the fourth inning. Alemany scored on the play after reaching base with a hit-by-pitch three batters prior to that.
Bailey Lotz paced Saint Mary's at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three singles.
