Women's Lacrosse Dispatched at San Diego State

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Bucknell women's lacrosse team was dispatched by San Diego State, 20-8, on Wednesday at Aztec Lacrosse Field.
The Aztecs (7-1) extended their winning streak to five games, bolstered by one 6-0 run and two 5-0 runs. They finished three goals shy of their school record, set on March 18, 2018 in a 23-4 victory at Wofford.
The Bison (1-6) had seven different goal scorers, with Audrey Walsh netting two. Her younger sister, Caroline Walsh, scored her first collegiate goal with just 14 seconds left on the game clock.
Tace Sutherland led Bucknell with three caused turnovers and tied Jamisen DeWitt for the team high with three ground balls. Kali Peeples paced the Bison with five draw controls.
For San Diego State, Courtney Robinson, Harlowe Steele and Taylor Sullivan each registered a hat trick. Eleven different Aztecs found the back of the net over the course of the contest while the San Diego State goalies combined for 12 saves.
The Aztecs held advantages in shots (38-27), shots on goal (26-20), draw controls (17-12) and ground balls (20-17) and went a perfect 16-for-16 on clears.
The Bison next host American on Sunday, March 17 at 3 p.m. in their Patriot League opener. During that game, they will celebrate their fundraising efforts for the HEADstrong Foundation as part of its "Game Hair Havoc" initiative.
