Softball Drops Doubleheader to Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. – Bucknell softball gave up late runs in both games as the Bison fell twice in a doubleheader at the University at Pacific. The Tigers posted a 3-0 win in the first game and a 3-2 victory in game two.
The Bison saw their record dip to 7-13 overall. They will play at Sacramento State at 6:15 p.m. (EST) on Thursday.
Senior Anna Gimmestad had a hit in both games against Pacific, upping her hitting streak to 12 games. She and fellow senior Lauren Hadley are the only two Bison players to start every game this season.
Pacific 3, Bucknell 0
Pacific broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth in a 3-0 win. Only one of the runs was earned.
Raeanne Geffert pitched five innings for Bucknell and allowed three runs, but just the one was earned. She gave up six hits and one walk while striking out two. Freshman Violet Matlock put Pacific down in order in the sixth inning.
Hailey Reed recorded the shutout for the Tigers. She gave up six hits, walked one, and struck out three.
Nicole Rivait doubled for Bucknell. Allyse Volpe, Tara Baglivo, Gimmestad, Hadley, and Ryanne Rokos all had singles.
Pacific 3, Bucknell 2
The Bison led 2-1 before Pacific scored the game-tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Pacific scored the game-tying run on a wild pitch and added the go-ahead run on an RBI single up the middle.
Bucknell tied the score at 1-1 when Rokos scored on a single by Lauren Lichtenwalner. The Bison added a second run to take the lead the following inning as Rivait scored on an error.
Lichtenwalner started and pitched five innings. She allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out two.
Jess Hom, Gimmestad, Rokos, and Lichtenwalner had singles for Bucknell.
