Bucknell at a Glance
• The Bison are currently 0-1 (0-0 Patriot League) after falling to No. 14/11 Virginia Tech, 14-4, on Feb. 9 in Blacksburg.
• In 2018, Bucknell went 3-13 (1-8 Patriot League). The Bison, who placed ninth in the Patriot League a year ago, were picked to finish in the same spot in 2019, as voted on by the league's coaches and sports information directors in the preseason poll.
• Bucknell qualified for back-to-back Patriot League Tournaments for the second time in program history in 2016 and 2017. The Bison were young and inexperienced a year ago, having lost three of their top five point producers and their two All-Patriot League honorees from 2017. Half of their Patriot League losses in 2018 came by three goals or fewer.
• Bucknell's captains are Callie DeWitt, Jamisen DeWitt, Sarah Dohler and Audrey Walsh. All four are first-time captains and will lead a young team featuring 21 underclassmen.
• J. DeWitt was recognized on the 2019 Preseason All-Patriot League Team. A 2018 All-Patriot League Second Team honoree, she led the Patriot League and finished ninth nationally in saves per game (10.75) that season.
• The Bison return their top four leading scorers from a year ago in Eve Calabria (19g-14a), Morgan Steinhacker (18g), Walsh (14g-3a) and Lillie Hunt (8g-8a).
• Walsh, who battled injuries throughout the 2018 campaign, previously led the team in scoring as a sophomore in 2017. That year, she racked up 46 points (26g-20a).
• Remington Steele enters his second year at the helm of the Bison women's lacrosse team in 2019.

Hofstra at a Glance
• Hofstra is currently 0-1 (0-0 CAA) after being topped by No. 21 USC, 15-10, in the first-ever meeting between the programs. Katie Whelan led the Pride offense with five points (4g-1a).
• In the 2019 CAA preseason poll, Hofstra was picked to finish fourth by the league's seven head coaches.
• The Pride went 8-9 (2-4 CAA) in 2018. While Hofstra failed to advance to the CAA tournament, it equaled its 2017 win total, which surpassed its 2016 figure by five.
• The Pride returns Alyssa Parrella, a 2018 All-CAA First Team and IWLCA All-Region Second Team selection who was previously honored as the 2017 CAA and ECAC Rookie of the Year.
• A year ago, Parrella led the CAA in points (80) while finishing second in goals (57) and fifth in assists (23). As a freshman in 2017, she was one of only two players who led her team in every field statistical category, recording 76 points (47g-29a), 54 draw controls, 39 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers.
• Parrella and Alexa Mattera garnered 2019 CAA Preseason accolades.
• Hofstra leads Bucknell, 10-5, in an all-time series that dates back to 1983.
• Last year in Hempstead, N.Y., the Pride cruised to a 13-1 victory on Feb. 17. Parrella led the way with five points (4g-1a).
• The Bison and Pride met for the first time since 1995 on Feb. 18, 2016 at Graham Field. Behind an early 7-0 run, Hofstra cruised to a 15-5 victory.
