Women's Track and Field Travels to Patriot League Championships This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa.—The Bucknell University women's track and field team will look to make it three straight Patriot League Indoor titles when it travels to Annapolis, Md. for the Patriot League Indoor Championships this weekend.

Last Time Out
- Bucknell concluded its indoor home meet slate at the Bucknell Tune-Up on Friday evening.
- Madeleine Hunt and Nora Bennett qualified for ECACs in the 1000 this season after Hunt ran a 2:56.72 to finish in second place overall. Bennett was fifth in the competitive field but still qualified after coming in with a time of 2:57.96.
- Delia Sipe had a strong evening in the shot put, tossing 46-5 3/4 to win the event, claim a new personal-best, and move up to fourth on Bucknell's all-time list. She was also named the Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week.
- Freshman Abby Whitaker also continued her strong debut season, coming in second after a throw of 42-8 ¾. She also set a new personal-best in the weight throw at 42-4.
- Also earning event wins were Bailie Rizzo (400), Hope Beyer (mile) and Karly Forker (500).
- Forker was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after the win in the 500, the second time she has claimed the award this season.
Last Year at the Patriot League Championships
- The Bison earned their second consecutive Patriot League Indoor crown last season in the friendly confines of Gerhard Fieldhouse.
- Bucknell narrowly edged out Army West Point by a 4.5 point margin, 158.5-154.
- Colleen Buckley was named the Patriot League Track Athlete of the meet after winning the 5,000, 3,000, and placing fourth in the mile.
- Alexandra Butz cleared 5-5 in the high jump to finish second at the meet.
- Kaitlin Salisbury won the silver medal in the 60 with a time of 7.69 and placed fourth in the triple jump after leaping 39-1.
- Tia Tardy earned gold medal honors in the 4x800 with teammates Jenna Farmer, Gianna Mincone, and Christine Bendzinski in a top 10 mark of 8:55.57 along with earning third place in the 800.
- Alexis Auman earned a third place finish in the pentathlon with 3,254 points. She also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 17-8 3/4.
The Bison will compete at the ECAC Indoor Championships in Boston, Mass. on March 1-3.
