Women's Track & Field Collects Ten Wins at the Bison Tuneup

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's track & field completed the regular season indoor schedule with smashing success at the Bison Tuneup. The Orange & Blue collected ten wins and three new top ten marks as the team prepared for next weekend's Patriot League Indoor Championships.Â

Madison Fowler pulled off the twin bill victory in the shot put and weight throw for the third time this season. The sophomore established her dominance in the weight throw by the second attempt, tossing 61-0.75, which firmly won the event. Fowler won the shot put, throwing 44-2.75, which also arrived during her second attempt.Â
Isabelle Roes finished second in the weight throw behind Fowler but her second place toss of 54-8.25 established a personal record and moved her into tenth place in Bucknell history.Â
Bucknell blew away the competition in the 60-meter dash with two fabulous freshmen. Grace Camerlingo won the event, racing 7.56, improving upon her third best status at Bucknell. Her time ranks second in the Patriot League, only 0.02 seconds behind Boston's Jada Smith - a senior runner.Â
Running mate Piper Portacio placed second, logging 7.73 - a time that ranks fifth at Bucknell. Portacio's old mark of 7.76 was eighth.Â
Abigail Michaelson continued the sprints' success by winning the 400-meter dash. The junior runner ran a season-best 58.50.Â
Katie Moncavage won the 800-meter run, as the Bison claimed the top four placements. Moncavage ran 2:15.19 to edge Grace Vives (2:15.47) for first.Â
The distance group recorded two victories. Katrina Torelli unlocked a win in the mile run, registering a personal best time of 4:57.27. Lauren Joyce took home the triumph in the 5000-meter run. The senior ran 18:21.56.Â
The jumps contingent grabbed two wins. Allison DeMatt earned the victory in the triple jump. Her winning mark of 38-7.7.5 came in the opening attempt, set a personal record, and held up as the gold standard. Liliana Wakenshaw took home the win in the high jump, clearing a season-best 5-5.Â
Elizabeth Bryant won the pole vault, equaling a season-best mark of 12-1.50.Â
A couple of Bison earned third place. Camdin Burkett raced 26.05 in the 200-meter dash. Francis Clulow set a personal record in the 3000-meter run, racing 10:34.76.Â
Emilia Smith placed fourth in the long jump, leaping 16-11.50.Â
Bucknell heads to Boston next weekend for the Patriot League Indoor Championships on Feb. 28-March 1.Â
