Men's Swim & Dive Wraps Up Time at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's swimming & diving team wrapped up the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday at Kinney Natatorium.
Mitch Gavars was the Bison's standout performer, winning a silver medal in the 1,650 freestyle. Gavars was Bucknell's highest individual finisher at the three-day event.
Gavars was joined in Sunday's 'A' finals by six other Bison. Will Cadwallader (3-meter dive) and Alan Flower (1,650 freestyle) took sixth in their respective events while Leo Kuyl (100 freestyle) and George Rump (200 breaststroke) went seventh. Ryaan Hatoum (200 breaststroke) and Nick Pirone (3-meter dive) added eighth-place showings.
Kuyl also teamed with Matt McGoey, Matt Mills and Christian Stef for a sixth-place performance in the 400 freestyle relay.
As a team, the Bison finished sixth with 859.5 points. Davidson (1,261.5), Rider (1,190) and Towson (1,165) were the top-three teams.
Bucknell returns to action in the New Year by hosting Johns Hopkins on Friday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.
