Bucknell at a Glance
• Bucknell is currently 6-1 (5-1 Patriot League) after topping Loyola, 171-129, on Nov. 23.
• The Bison used 10 victories to secure their second-straight 6-1 start to dual action. Emma Hadley (100 & 200 backstroke), Maddie Hartigan (100 & 200 freestyle) and Abby Merriman (500 & 1,000 freestyle) each won two events while Bucknell went 1-2-3 in the 500 freestyle, 1,000 freestyle and 1-meter dive.
• In 2018-19, the Bison finished dual competition with an impressive 8-1 (6-1 Patriot League) record. With their Senior Day triumph over rival Lehigh, they reached the eight-win threshold for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign, when they went 8-2 (6-0 Patriot League).
• Bucknell went on to place third (482 points) at the 10-team Patriot League Championships and third (322 points) at the 24-team ECAC Championships. The Bison's third-place showing at the Patriot League Championships was their best since 2015, when they were the runners-up; they were bolstered by eight medal-winning performances, including an individual title by Hartigan in the 1,650 freestyle.
• Hartigan (1st), Julie Byrne (1st), Maggie Wyngowski (1st) and Abigail Rosenberg (2nd) were Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League honorees.
• Of Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League selections, Byrne and Rosenberg were lost to graduation. The Bison also returned Hadley, a 2017 All-Patriot League First Team and 2018 All-Patriot League Second Team honoree.
• Two school-record holders are on the 2019-20 roster: Hartigan (500 freestyle, 4:49.16) and Wyngowski (200 breaststroke, 2:14.98; 400 IM, 4:17.80).
• Returnees Emily Gorham (200 freestyle), Hadley (200 medley, 400 medley), Hartigan (800 freestyle), Katherine O'Shea (200 freestyle) and Wyngowski (200 medley) were members of school record setting relay teams.
• The program welcomed 10 newcomers in 2019-20. They hail from six different states: Pennsylvania (4), Connecticut (2), Florida, Maryland, New Jersey and New York.
