Women's Swim & Dive Downs Loyola, 171-129

BALTIMORE – The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team improved to 6-1 (5-1 Patriot League) on the young season with a 171-129 victory at Loyola on Saturday.
The Bison used 10 victories to continue their hot start, their second-straight 6-1 start to dual action. Emma Hadley (100 & 200 backstroke), Maddie Hartigan (100 & 200 freestyle) and Abby Merriman (500 & 1,000 freestyle) each won two events while Bucknell went 1-2-3 in the 500 freestyle, 1,000 freestyle and 1-meter dive.
Jamilie Atiyeh (1-meter) and Paige Schoelkopf (3-meter) combined to help the Bison claim both board crowns. Alexis Faria (200 butterfly) and Maggie Wyngowski (200 IM) accounted for Bucknell's other event wins.
Catherine Craig's time of 2:19.54 in the 200 breaststroke moved her into eighth in school history. She finished second against the Greyhounds.
The Bison improved to 3-0 all-time against the Greyhounds (4-3, 3-2 Patriot League). They next host the Bucknell Invitational on Dec. 6-8 at Kinney Natatorium. A select number of Bison will attend the U.S. Open from Dec. 5-7.
