The Bison Won One Singles and Two Doubles Matches
RESULTS
MERION STATION, Pa. – The Bucknell men's tennis team is off to a good start at the Saint Joseph's Invitational, winning all three of its matches – one singles and two doubles – that were played on Friday.
Freshman Cooper Bradshaw was the lone Bison player to compete in singles on the first day and picked up his first career win. He won in straight sets over Harford Community College's Nicolas Segui Verdu, 6-4, 6-1. Bradshaw will take on Dan Tan (Saint Joseph's) in the second round.
Ethan Jacobs (Flight 1), Adrien Crastes (Flight 3), and Drew Krantz (Flight 4) all received byes in the opening round and will open play on Saturday.
Bradshaw was also a winner in doubles while playing alongside Jacobs, a fellow freshman. The pair defeated Harford Community College's Artur Ezberger and Thomas Norwood, 8-6, to advance to the quarterfinal round.
In Flight 2 doubles, Crastes and Krantz advanced to the quarterfinals with an 8-6 win over Tan and Luis Janko (Saint Joseph's).
The tournament resumes on Saturday and will conclude on Sunday.
