LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lexi Quick scored with 2:51 left in double overtime to give Bucknell a 2-1 win over visiting Richmond in non-conference field hockey action Sunday at Graham Field. It was the second win of the weekend for the Bison as they improved to 2-2, while the Spiders dropped to 1-3.
Quick took the insert pass on a penalty corner and made a great fake to get the defender off balance. She moved to her right and fired from the top of the arc, beating the goal for the game-winner. It was her second goal of the season, adding to her score in a 5-0 victory over Cornell on Friday.
Richmond, which is coached by former Bucknell assistant Jamie Montgomery, was coming off a 4-2 win over Patriot League foe Lafayette, and took the first lead of the game against the Bison. After a scoreless first half, Jessica Hendry put the Spiders up 1-0 with her goal 7:29 into the second half.
Bucknell got on the scoreboard with Katie Mannino's game-tying goal just under 10 minutes later. Richmond goalkeeper Emily Braunewell made a nice save on a Bison shot, but Mannino swatted in the rebound out of mid-air. It was her second goal of the season, with the other coming last game against Cornell.

The Bison defense was outstanding as they overcame four green card penalties. Olivia Harris stopped four of the five shots on goal she faced, doing so one game after she recorded her first career shutout with seven saves.
It was an evenly-played game throughout with Bucknell finishing with slight advantages in shots (11-8), shots on goal (7-5), and corners (3-1).
Bucknell is home for the third straight game when it hosts Lock Haven on Friday at 4 p.m. The Bald Eagles are 3-1 with wins over Lehigh, Towson, and Cornell.
