Bison Notes
- The Bison are off to their first four-game unbeaten start in Patriot League play since the 2003 season.
- A big part of the Bison's good start to conference play has been the play of the back line. Quinn Bredin, Tyler Peterson, Bernie Wright, Trevor Wiggins, and Dany Teran have each played a role in a back line that has allowed just one goal through four games and has not conceded a goal in over 180 minutes.
- The stellar defensive play, as well as a timely goal, allowed Tyler Peterson to be named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week as well as earning Bison Athlete of the Week honors.
- Peterson contributed to two shutouts at Loyola and at home vs. Holy Cross and scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick at Loyola.
- The Bison rank 14th in the NCAA in scoring defense, allowing just eight goals through 11 games.
- The .658 goals against average also tops the Patriot League.
- Goal keeper Ryan Ott has also been a huge part of the Bison's success defensively, ranking 44th national in total saves with 43, and ninth in the country in save percentage at .843. Ott's save percentage is also first in the Patriot League.
- The Bison have earned three points in three of its opening four games due to timely goals on the offensive end as well, with Matt Thorsheim netting the most recent overtime winner for the Bison.
- Thorsheim's low strike in the 108th minute was the latest goal scored by a Bison player since a 104th minute tally by Jesse Klug in the 2015 season. The win was also Bucknell's first win in double overtime since Klug's goal beat Northern Kentucky on Sept. 6, 2015.
- In six home games so far this season, the Bison have played five overtime games.
- Bucknell's four goals in Patriot League play have been scored by four different players: Thorsheim, Alex Clarke, Peterson, and Michael Pavick.
