BOSTON – The Bucknell 4x400 relay team qualified for the finals to highlight the Bison's results on the second day of the ECAC Championships on Saturday at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center.
Allison Sharkey, Elyse Pettaway, Jen Silvestri and Kim Nagotko each ran a leg on the Bison 4x400 relay team, which took seventh in the preliminaries. The group finished in 3:48.29.
The Bison had three runners finish in the top 15 of their respective events. Katie Jessee was 14th in the 5,000-meter run, Nagotko finished 15th in the 400m, and Morgan Roche took 15th in the 1,000m. Nagotko set a personal record with a time of 56.19, while Roche set a PR with a time of 2:55.31.
“I was very proud of our women today,” said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. “Kim ran a very fast 400. She didn't make the final but set a nice PR. Morgan set a nice PR in the 1,000m, and our 4x400 made the final. Sickness really rocked our women's team this week, and we had to make a lot of relay substitutions at the last minute, so I was really proud of the way they responded.”
Sunday's competition will begin with the shot put at 9:30 a.m.
