BOSTON – Junior Abigail Brundage earned individual All-East honors in the shot put, and Allison Sharkey, Elyse Pettaway, Jen Silvestri and Kim Nagotko received the honor as part of the 4x400 relay team on the final day of the ECAC Championships at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center.
Brundage took seventh in the shot put with a toss of 43-10. Sophia Nnadi just missed All-East status with a ninth-place finish after a mark of 43-1.
In the 4x400, Sharkey, Pettaway, Silvestri and Nagotko crossed the line in 3:48.11. The team's other relay that competed Sunday, the distance medley, consisted of Sarah Chandler, Morgan Roche, Reagan Cerney and Emma Cousins and took 18th.
Also coming up just one place short of All-East honors was freshman Efe Agege in the triple jump. Her leap of 39-3 ¼ was good enough for ninth.
“Brundage scoring in the shot put is great, and being a junior should set her up great for the next year and a half,” said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. “Our 4x400 ran great to finish seventh and earn All-East. We really struggled with sickness. Not having some key people here really affected some of our decision making.”
The Bison were coming off a title at the Patriot League Championships. They will have a three-week break before opening the outdoor season at the Monmouth Invitational.
