ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- National points leader Loren Generi registered six goals, two assists and seven draw controls to lift Navy to a 21-4 victory over Bucknell on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium. Freshman Gretchen Richter recorded seven draw controls for the Bison, who fell to 2-6 overall, 0-1 in the Patriot League, while Navy improved to 8-1, 2-0.
Emily Kookogey scored her 13th goal of the year to bring the Bison within 2-1 in the opening four minutes of the contest, but the Mids scored the game's next 17 goals. It was 14-1 at the half and 19-1 after a Morgan Young goal with 15:32 to play.
Bucknell's drought ended with an own-goal, as a Navy defender swatted a pass into her own net. Cori Thielemann and Christina Manis later scored for the Bison.
Elizabeth Duswalt made seven saves for Bucknell, which was outshot 37-8 despite leading 14-13 in draw controls. The Bison committed 18 turnovers compared to only seven by Navy, and they were just 5-for-10 on clears.
The Bison are back in action on Wednesday at Loyola.
