
Bucknell Cross Country Falls to Duquesne, 19-38

PITTSBURGH - Dave Brown (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) was again the Bison's top finisher, but Bucknell men's cross country could not upset Duquesne in a dual at Schenley Oval Park on Saturday morning. Brown placed fourth overall, while the Dukes won by a 19-38 team score.
Brown's finish on the eight-kilometer race came in a time of 25:34. Close behind the senior were younger teammates John Dugan (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) and Dustin Horning (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown Area). Dugan was sixth in the individual standings with a time of 25:43, while Horning was seventh in 25:45.
Rounding out the top seven for the Bison were Dan Dillon (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane), Andrew Garcia-Garrison (Detroit, Mich./Catholic Central), D.J. Krystek (Pitcairn, Pa./Gateway Senior) and Michael McGowan (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion). Four of Bucknell's top seven finishers were freshmen.
Duquesne earned the top three spots, led by Jim Spisak. Spisak earned the individual title in 25:01.
Bucknell will be back in action for the Paul Short Memorial Invitational, hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa., on Sept. 30.
