Men's Cross Country Wins the Jasper Invitational

MONTGOMERY, N.Y.- Bucknell men's cross country marked its first appearance at the Twin Ponds Course with a decisive victory on Saturday morning at the Jasper Invitational. The Bison slotted four runners in the top ten and five in the top 11 to score 32 points. Henry Didden's second place finish paced the Orange & Blue effort on the 8k course.Â

"Much improved race for us compared to Lehigh two weeks ago. I was pleased with our depth and most of the guys handed the 8k well. We established ourselves early and maintained the low score throughout the race."

Bucknell finished first with 32 points. Siena notched second with 44 and Fordham grabbed third with 107.Â
Henry Didden performed as the Bison's best runner for the second straight week. The senior captain raced 24:40.8 to win silver laurels.Â
Fellow senior captain Trent Dinant slotted fourth, racing 24:57.8. Dinant finished strong moving up from ninth to fourth place in the back stretch.Â
Sophomore David Carillo finished seventh, running 25:12.9. The second-year runner was consistent throughout holding down his spot for the last half of the race.
Fellow sophomore Ethan Pratt-Perez was right behind Carillo in eighth place, zooming 25:14. Pratt-Perez stumbled to 35th at one stretch before launching a big rally in the last segment to return to the top ten.Â
Senior Jayson Harmer rounded out the Bison scoring with his 11th place finish. The veteran distanceman ran 25:26.6.Â
