CANFIELD, OHIO- Bucknell men's cross country placed second at the YSU Invitational on Saturday morning. The Bison slotted four runners in the top eight to finish with 31 points. The course was 8k in length.Â
Donner's Debriefing
"I thought our men ran very solid. Youngstown was a bit deeper than us, but considering we have never been on the course, I felt we handled it well but just a little inexperienced on it. We look forward to a long training block now with our next meet being in 20 days. Henry Didden is running very consistent and Ethan Pratt-Perez is starting to round into a good fitness level."
Host Youngstown State used its course knowledge to finish first with 26 points. Bucknell was next in the six-team competition. Malone was third with 83 points.Â
Captain Didden paced the Bison men for the third straight meet. He collected another second place finish, running 25:37.81. Didden flip-flopped between third and fourth before surging to silver.Â
Pratt-Perez was right on his heels, placing third with a time of 25:41.79. He traded between third and fourth with his captain before settling in at the bronze position.Â
Jayson Harmer slotted sixth as the third Bison scorer. The senior runner ran 26:00.35 and spent the entire race in the top ten.Â
Captain Trent Dinant was the final Bucknell runner in the top 10, finishing eighth with a time of 26:03.77. Dinant was consistent by running the whole race shifting from sixth to eighth.Â
Grant Kern rounded out the Orange & Blue scorers with his 12th place finish. The senior ran 26:23.38. Kern sat at 22nd through 3k before making his run.Â
Bucknell will rest for two weekends before running at the historic ECAC/IC4A Championships on Oct. 17.Â
