MADISON, Wis. -- It was an up and down day for the Bucknell women's golf team at the Badger Invitational, which began with 36 holes Sunday at University Ridge Golf Course. The Bison started slowly but regrouped later in the opening round en route to a 317, then in the afternoon they posted a score of 320 to stand in 11th place.
Freshman Kasha Scott (Cherry Hills Village, Colo./Cherry Creek) had the best round of the day for Bucknell, a 3-over 75 in the first round. After bogeying five of the first seven holes, she played the last 11 in 2-under, including three birdies. Scott slipped to 88 in the afternoon, however, and is tied for 49th overall.
Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) shot 79-77 and is the low Bison so far at 156. In her second round, Lee was 1-under through 13 holes but a couple of double bogeys spoiled a potentially great score.
Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) posted two 80s, Lauren Bernard (Malvern, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) shot 83-81, and Bridget Wilcox (Bernardsville, N.J./Taft School) carded 85-82.
Host Wisconsin leads the tournament at 582 total (282-300), eight better than Augusta State. Carly Werwie of Wisconsin leads the individual standings at 3-under par, one ahead of Audrey Fellmeth of Xavier.
The final round concludes Monday morning.
