LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell freshman midfielder Ryan Wenk (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) earned her first career Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor on Monday after a personal-best four-point game against Drexel a day earlier.
Wenk contributed two goals and two assists in Bucknell's near-upset of the 6-1 Dragons. The Bison led for most of the day before Drexel rallied for a 13-11 decision. Wenk had two goals and an assist in the first half as the Bison went into halftime with a 7-4 lead.
Early in the second period she made a slick feed to teammate Chelsea Peters to give the Bison a 9-5 advantage.
Earlier in the week, Wenk scored a goal in a road loss at Columbia, and she now has four goals and two assists for six points in six games this season.
The Bison are 1-5 on the season heading into Friday's Patriot League opener against Lehigh at home at 7 p.m.
