Bucknell Men's Tennis Falls to Lehigh, 5-2

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team fell to Lehigh, 5-2, early Thursday evening in Bethlehem, Pa. Despite the loss, the Bison took an early lead as they collected two out of the three doubles matches to secure the doubles point.
The duo of senior Asher Salam (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) and sophomore Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper) won its match at the No. 1 position over Randall Smalley and John Nespoli, 9-8 (7). Also turning in a winning performance for the Orange and Blue were sophomore John Lashnits (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greely) and freshman Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon), in the No. 2 spot, over Brad Nelson and Alfredo Fernandez-Concha, 8-4.
In singles play, Sandburg pulled in the lone point for Bucknell, defeating Nelson in three sets, 5-7, 6-3 and 10-7.
The Bison will return to action on Friday, in the final Patriot League contest of the season, hosting American at 3 p.m.
