Men's Tennis Opens Spring Break Trip in South Carolina

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - The Bucknell men's tennis team opened its spring break trip to South Carolina on Monday against College of Charleston at the tennis center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant. The Bison (3-3) had a rough day as they fell 7-0.
In singles play, senior Asher Salam (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) won his first set, 4-6, against Omer Abramovich in the No. 2 spot, but couldn't hang on as he lost his next two sets 6-2.
Winning the only match of the day for the Bison was the pair of sophomore John Lashnits (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greely) and freshman Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon), in No. 2 doubles, over John Crudop and Alexandre Quilis, 9-8.
The Orange and Blue will look for its first win of the spring break trip as it battles Charleston Southern on Wednesday, March 15, in Charleston, S.C. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
