Bucknell Women's Lax Drops 15-7 Verdict at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Katie Edge logged a season-high three goals, but Drexel scored 11 times in the second half to break open a 4-4 tie and defeat Bucknell 15-7 in a non-league women's lacrosse game on Sunday afternoon.
The Bison (1-4) also received two goals from Emily Burman and a goal and three assists from Andrea Paraud. Kerry Kelly had three goals and two assists for Drexel (3-1), while Emily Hoesch and Nicole Adams also registered three goals.
Bucknell trailed 4-2 until Edge and Lauren Kramer scored just over two minutes apart late in the half to draw the Bison even at intermission. Bucknell had three offensive possessions early in the second half but could not convert, and Drexel took advantage when Adams potted the go-ahead goal with 27:28 left to play.
That was the first of five straight goals in a 10-minutes span as the Dragons broke the game open. Kelly's goal off a Colleen Rocks assists made it 9-4 at the 17:19 mark. Burman halted the run with an unassisted goal with 15:30 to play, but Kelly and Alison Smith scored 33 seconds apart to make it 11-5. Jennifer Bonini's back-to-back goals later in the half gave Drexel its largest lead at 14-5.
Lizzy McDaniel made nine saves in goal for the Bison, who were outshot 33-19.
Next up for Bucknell is a March 18 road contest at Wagner at 3:30 p.m.
