Bucknell Men's Golf Tied for 11th at Colgate Invitational

HAMILTON, N.Y. - Abbie Valentine carded an even-par 72 and Tom Lane shot 73 to lead the Bucknell men's golf team to a 305 composite in its opening round of the season Saturday at the Colgate Invitational at Seven Oaks GC.
Valentine is tied for seventh in the individual standings, three shots back of co-leaders Sean Cusick of Colgate and Bob Whatrenby of Rider. Lane is tied for ninth place.
Also for Bucknell, newcomers Ryan Hom and Patrick Yingling shot 80, while Ben Pellicani carded an 81.
Binghamton took an eight-stroke team lead over Fordham and Loyola with a 291 team total. Concord (301), Lafayette (301), Ottawa (302), Lehigh (302), American (303), Long Island (304) and Hamilton (304) rounded out the top 10 through 18 holes. Rider and Iona joined Bucknell at 305 in a tie for 11th.
The tournament concludes Sunday morning with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
