Bison Women's Lacrosse Falls 12-1 at LaSalle

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Bucknell women's lacrosse team suffered its fourth straight loss with a 12-1 defeat at LaSalle on Wednesday, April 17. The loss dropped the Bison to 6-8 overall and moved the Explorers to 4-8 on the year.
Senior Erin Hogan got the start in goal for LaSalle for the first time since game one of the season. Hogan made an impressive showing, stopping 12 shots and allowing just one goal in the contest.
Offensively, the Explorers turned in their best scoring performance in five games with 12 goals, while holding Bucknell to its lowest output all season. Freshmen Amy Koons and Kate Henwood led the way for LaSalle with three goals apiece. Senior Jami Wilus contributed four points including two goals and two assists.
In her first start of the season, freshman Amy Jushasz got into the scoring column netting LaSalles' second goal with 25:58 remaining in the half on a Wilus pass. Fellow freshman Kristie O'Donnell dropped in her second goal of the season on a free possession shot on goal.
Sophomore Tracy Guenther scored two goals for LaSalle offensively and on defense grabbed three ground balls and caused two turnovers. Henwood also made an impressive showing on defense with three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Bucknell's Melissa Montefusco scored the Bison's lone goal at the 18:18 mark of the first half. The Orange and Blue attempted 15 shots on goal and were awarded three free possession shots in the game.
The Bison will be in action next on Saturday, April 20, when they host their final game of the season against Patriot League rival Villanova. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
