10-Goal Second Half Lifts Colgate Past Bucknell Women's Lax, 16-11

HAMILTON, Pa. - Lauren Moll scored three of her game-high four goals during a decisive six-goal second-half run that propelled Colgate to a 16-11 Patriot League victory over Bucknell Saturday at Tyler's Field.
Bucknell never led in the game but was within striking distance at 9-7 midway through the second half before the Raiders exploded for six straight tallies in a span of 10:07 to put away the contest. Moll kicked off the run when she converted a Samantha Didrickson pass with 14:44 to play. Moll scored twice more to join Rebecca Sandler, Kelsey Hill and Kim Corcoran in the scoring column in the run.
Suzanne Raffaele led Bucknell with four goals, giving her an even 100 for her career, while Melissa Montefusco added a goal and four assists. Laura Nuss also recorded a hat trick with a three-goal performance, while Amy Hasler added a pair of tallies and Andrea Paraud one.
The contest was tied twice in the early stages before the Raiders assumed the lead for good with a 4-1 run over a span of 12:40. Sandler's goal gave Colgate a 6-3 lead, its largest of the first period. Nuss scored 2:57 before halftime to bring the Bison within 6-4 at the break, and less than two minutes into the second half Montefusco scored an unassisted goal to make it 6-5.
Sandler and Manning answered with scores 2:31 apart to make it 8-5, and Colgate led by at least two goals the rest of the way.
Nicole Kallis made 15 saves for the Bison, who fell to 6-7 overall, 1-4 in Patriot League play. Jane Murray stopped 10 shots for Colgate (4-9, 2-3).
Colgate doubled up Bucknell in shots (34-17) and draw controls (20-10). The 16 goals were the most allowed by the Bison since a 16-10 loss at Colgate last season.
Bucknell returns to action this Wednesday at LaSalle at 3 p.m.
