LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Kallis (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) was named the Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 15. It is the third-straight honor for the sophomore this season.
Kallis wins the award after a 3-0 week in which she recorded 34 saves and allowed only 17 goals from 90 opponents' shots. The sophomore was especially impressive in BU's Patriot League victory over Lehigh, stopping 18 Mountain Hawk shots while allowing only seven goals for a .720 save percentage.
Through 15 games, Kallis ranks second in the Patriot League in save percentage (.617) and goals allowed per game (8.59). Her save percentage also ranks her fifth in the country in that category, while she stands at 19th in the nation in goals against average.
Bucknell ends the season at 7-8 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League. The Bison closed out the year with a four-game win streak, the third highest in the country, including a season-ending double overtime victory at Drexel.
