Softball Team Stumbles In Extra Contest Versus Manhattan, 5-0

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Manhattan Jaspers struck early and often on their way to defeating Bucknell, 5-0, in softball action on Wednesday, March 14, at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.
Manhattan scored two in the second, one in the third and one more in both the fifth and sixth innings, while limiting the Bison to just three hits, on the way to the 5-0 shutout.
Junior firstbasman Kelly Dugan (Mt. Holly, N.J./Rancocas Valley), centerfielder Jenna Demetriades (Nesquehoning, Pa./Tamaqua) and freshman Melissa Monday (Livingston, N.J./Mt. Saint Dominic Academy) collected Bucknell's hits in the contest.
BU falls to 4-3-1 overall and finishes its spring break trip with three games on Thursday, March 15. The Bison face Manhattan again at 11:00 a.m., Quincy at 4:00 p.m. and Marist for the second time at 6:00 p.m.
