Amanda Impellizeri joined the Bucknell track and field staff as pole vault coach prior to the 2014-15 season. Impellizzeri is a 2013 graduate of Michigan State, where she is the former school record-holder in the pole vault, and she spent the 2013-14 season on the Michigan State coaching staff assisting with the vaulters as well as the multi-event athletes.
Impellizeri helped mentor Lauren Chorney, who won the Big Ten Championship at 13-8.5, which broke Impellezzeri’s own school record of 13-3.5 that she set in 2013 while at MSU. She helped three other women clear over 12-7.5, and she also coached Tim Ehrhardt to a second-place finish in the Big 10 with a jump of 17-1.
Impellizzeri also coached kids ages 5-18 at the club level in her hometown of Kentwood, Michigan.
During her collegiate years with the Spartans, Impellizzeri was a two time NCAA East Preliminary qualifier and was a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.
