A native of Coronado, Calif., Claire Helmers is the daughter of Scott Helmers and Robin Wood. She graduated from Coronado High School and joined the Bucknell women’s rowing team as a novice. Majoring in chemical engineering and minoring in biomedical engineering, Claire graduated as a three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
In her time on the Bucknell women’s rowing team, Claire was a member of two Patriot League Championship boats. As a sophomore, she earned a silver medal in the Second Varsity Eight and as a senior, she earned a silver medal in the Varsity Eight. Outside of rowing, Claire was Co-President for the Society of Women Engineers, a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, an Orientation Assistant, a leader for the pre-orientation program Design, Thinking, & Leadership, a tour guide, and undergraduate researcher for the Department of Chemistry.
