BALTIMORE, Md.- Bucknell (5-7, 1-2 Patriot League) suffered its second straight sweep (21-25, 23-25, 19-25) in a loss on Friday night against a resurgent Loyola (Md.) (3-8, 1-2 Patriot League). The Greyhounds won the first set and Bucknell never caught up with the Baltimore foe.

Loyola suffocated Bucknell's offense, holding the Bison to a hitting percentage of .117 and holding two Bison to negative hitting percentages. The Greyhounds' offense was not much better at .219 but they held a decisive advantage in kills, 45-30.

No Bison recorded double-digit kills. Cameron Lloyd led the squad with eight kills and recorded two aces. Kaitlyn Taylor posted six kills and shoveled 11 digs.

Bucknell started strong in the first set, leading 8-3 before an 8-1 Loyola run permanently switched the dynamic. The Greyhounds raced ahead and Bucknell never found the rally to tie or reclaim the lead. A Katie O'Sullivan service error finished the set in Loyola's favor.

The second set witnessed another Bison lead that evaporated against a Greyhound rally. Bucknell led 15-9 before Loyola started chipping away at the advantage. Loyola tied the set at 18-18 and fell behind 20-19 before pulling away for the 25-23 win.

Loyola completed the sweep with a 25-19 third-set victory. Bucknell tied the score at 5-5 on a Peyton McGee ace. The move enraged the Greyhounds. Loyola uncorked a 7-0 run and drove to the win. Bucknell cut the deficit to 21-19 before a 4-0 stretch won the set and match.

Bucknell ends its lengthy road trip with a match at Navy tomorrow. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
