Bucknell Places Two on 2026 CWPA All-Conference Teams

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's water polo placed two on the 2026 CWPA All-Conference Teams, as announced Tuesday by the CWPA. Olivia Hopper repeated as Second Team for the second consecutive season and freshman Olivia Garcia notched Honorable Mention. The awards mark Bucknell's second straight season with two honorees.Â
Both players have been pivotal in Bucknell's 12-10 record, as the Bison prepare for this weekend's CWPA Championships, serving an integral part of the Orange & Blue's youth movement that has reinvigorated the program after its post COVID-19 pandemic doldrums.Â
Hopper, despite the infusion of talent that necessitated a greater sharing of shooting attempts and increased opponent attention after her historic rookie season, remains Bucknell's high scorer, leading the team in goals (47) and points (103). She has been a model of consistency, tallying goals in every game except two.Â
Garcia, a freshman, has already gained the respect of league opponents. The rookie, in the team rankings, sits second in assists (20), fourth in points (66), and sixth in goals (23). A defensive presence, her ten steals lead the Orange & Blue.Â
Bucknell plays fourth-seeded Brown this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the CWPA Tournament's first round, a rematch of last year's opening match, where the Bison upset the Bears in a dramatic 7-6 victory. The entire tournament will be streamed on CWPATV.Â
