LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior Liam Kilmer earned his first career Patriot League Player of the Week award on Tuesday following an unbeaten weekend in the team's 5-2 wins over Georgetown and Johns Hopkins.
Bucknell defeated Georgetown for the first time since 1988, and Kilmer was a two-time winner against the Hoyas. He teamed with Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega for a 6-4 win at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point for the Bison, and then at No. 2 singles he cruised to a dominant 6-3, 6-0 win over James O'Sullivan.
With All-Patriot Leaguers Amar Tahirovic and Adam Stavrakas out of the lineup against Johns Hopkins – the 11th-ranked team in Division III – Kilmer moved up to the No. 1 singles spot for the first time. Taking on 2025 NCAA DIII quarterfinalist Chakor Rajendra, Kilmer dropped the first set in a tiebreaker but came back to win the next two sets 6-4 and 6-0 to cap off the win.
Kilmer is now 11-4 in singles over the full season and 5-2 in spring duals, having now played in each of the top four spots in the lineup.
Bucknell has won four straight to improve to 6-2 on the season. The Bison head to Philadelphia this weekend to face Saint Joseph's on Saturday and Drexel on Sunday.
