About Bucknell
- Bucknell concludes its 2026 home schedule with two matches against Old Line State foes, Loyola (Md.) and Navy. The matches will be streamed on ESPN+. The Live Stats links can be found on the Bucknell Volleyball schedule page.Â
- The Bison were dropped in four sets by Lehigh on Saturday but rebounded to sweep basement dweller Lafayette on Sunday. Bucknell drew first blood against the Mountain Hawks before Lehigh rattled off three straight set wins. Lafayette was no match for Bucknell's offense and defense.Â
- Bucknell will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday. The class of Cameron Lloyd, Sidney Shaffer, and Kaitlyn Taylor has won 56 games, clinched three Patriot League Tournament berths, and notched multiple conference honors.Â
- The Bison were selected to finish sixth and nab the final spot in the conference tournament in the preseason poll. Defending champions American was picked to retain its crown.
- Bucknell currently is tied for seventh in the Patriot League with Colgate, one game out of tournament contention. The Bison have the tiebreaker on the Raiders.Â
- Bucknell went 12-14 overall and 9-7 in conference play in 2025. The season ended with a 3-2 defeat in the Patriot League First Round to Navy.Â
- Graduation thinned the Bison ranks. 2024 Patriot League Setter of the Year Caleigh O'Connell headlined the departures. Other notable losses included backup setter Laura Caro, First Team All-Patriot League member Bri Frazilus, Second Team All-Patriot League honoree Tijana Kostic, and prominent middle blocker Riley Tucker, who graduated early and transferred to Tulane.Â
- Plenty of talent remains in Lewisburg with two-time First Team All-Patriot League recipient Sidney Shaffer - the preeminent middle blocker in the conference. Shaffer was Bucknell's sole entry on the 2026 Patriot League Preseason Team. Cameron Lloyd switches back to outside hitter after a magnificent season as a libero, a move that significantly bolsters the position group after Frazilus' and Kostic's departures.Â
- Two transfers, Calli Kenny and Katie O'Sullivan, arrived at Bucknell. Kenny, a setter, previously played at Marquette, while O'Sullivan, a libero, suited up for San Jose State.
- Six freshmen joined the Bison, most notably, Isabella Charlton and Marion Haskell. Haskell has developed into one of Bucknell's main offensive threats. Charlton has played a crucial role in serving and backline defense.Â
- John Post enters his first season for the Bison after a highly successful tenure as an assistant coach at Yale. Post previously helmed the men's and women's programs at Nichols College.Â
- Peyton McGee is second in the conference in assists per set (8.56).Â
- O'Sullivan is sixth in the conference in digs per set (4.10).Â
- Lloyd crossed the 1000-dig milestone this season. She is also tied for fifth in the conference in aces per set (0.35).
- Shaffer is eighth in the circuit in kills (192).
- The Greyhounds are 7-13 overall and 5-6 in conference action. Loyola dropped two home matches last weekend to Army and Colgate and only sit one game above Bucknell in the standings but the foe does hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Bison.Â
- Loyola has already equaled its overall and conference win totals from 2025 and are in position to return to the Patriot League Tournament for the first time since 2024.Â
- Loyola was picked to finish eighth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. No Greyhounds made the Preseason All-League Team.Â
- Two Greyhounds have recorded more than 200 kills. Morgan Crawford's 216 kills pace the squad and rank sixth in the circuit.Â
- Alija Pittenger is in her 12th year as head coach.Â
- Bucknell owns the 22-16 series lead and has won the last five of seven matches but dropped the first duel of 2026.Â
- The Midshipmen are 9-10 overall but 7-4 in PL play. The Mids sit comfortably in third place, two games above the three programs tied for fourth in the loop.Â
- Navy rebounded with a defeat of Colgate last time out after being surprised by Holy Cross in a sweep.Â
- The Midshipmen went 13-14 overall and 8-8 in Patriot League competition in 2025. After defeating Bucknell in the Patriot League First Round, their season concluded with a sweep by American in the semifinals.Â
- Navy was picked to finish fifth in the PL Preseason Poll. No Mids landed on the Preseason All-League Team.Â
- Farrah Eike leads Navy with 240 kills, third-highest in the PL.Â
- Paco Labrador enters his ninth season as head coach, owning a 120-99Â record.Â
- Bucknell trails Navy 26-44 in the all-time series. Navy has sailed away victorious in the last four matches since Bucknell won both in 2024.Â
- Bucknell returns to the road next weekend with matches against Army (Oct. 6) and Colgate (Oct. 7).Â
