Women's Track & Field Wins Gulden Invitational; Madison Fowler Earns Women's Field MVP

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's track & field dominated Saturday's Gulden Invitational, scoring 215.5 points and winning six events en route to its magnificent victory. The Bison outscored second place Towson by 94.5 points. Madison Fowler earned Women's Field MVP for her twin triumphs in the shot put and weight throw.
Results
Fowler headlined the winning Bison effort, easily shining as the field's best thrower. She conquered the shot put, throwing 44-9.50 in her fourth attempt, establishing a new season best mark. In the weight throw, she led the Orange & Blue's podium sweep, tossing the instrument 56-6.75.
The Bison's distance group provided two more wins. Grace Vives paced the top four runners, all Bison, by racing 5:02.16, which set a new personal record for the senior distancewoman. Bradley Weldon added another victory to her ledger by winning the 3000-meter run. The Bison runner set a new personal best, logging a time of 10:01.19.
The 4x400-meter relay "A" Team of Piper Portacio, Megan Cain, Grace Camerlingo, and Raygan Lust combined for the winning time of 3:56.76.
Madeline Kerr supplied the win in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.69.
The jumps group powered the victory with two second place and one fourth place finishes. Megan Baggetta and Jordan Muraglia recorded the silver placements and Madeline Lehker slotted fourth. Baggetta leaped 37-5.75 in the triple jump and Jordan Muraglia traveled 18-1.50 in the long jump. Lehker cleared 5-3 in the high jump - a season best.
Two runners supplied second place finishes. Lust ran 58.54 in the 400-meter dash and Shaelan McNally set a personal record in the 1000-meter run, racing 2:55.61.
The 4x800-meter relay "A" Team of Isabella Johns, Kerr, Katie Moncavage, and Katrina Torelli finished second, running 9:27.10.
Lauren Joyce posted a third place finish in the 5000-meter run with her time of 17:56.98.
Portacio recorded two other top ten finishes. She rolled lucky sevens in the 60-meter run, finishing fourth with a speed of 7.77. Her day completed with eighth in the 200-meter dash, running 25.85.
Kate Harnish led the Bison effort in the pole vault, clearing 11-1.75 for fourth place.
Noelani Sadler finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.12.
Bucknell will split its squad between two competitions next weekend. The Bison will remain at home for the Bison Invitational & Multi and head to Happy Valley for the Penn State National Open.
