Track & Field Pulls Double Duty This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell track & field teams will pull double duty this weekend with select members running at the Penn State National Open while the rest of the squad will host the Bison Challenge & Multi. The Orange & Blue are coming off twin wins at the Gulden Invitational last weekend.Â

Overview
- The Bison destroyed the competition at the Gulden Invitational.
- Madison Fowler won the Gulden Invitational Women's Field MVP Award after conquering both the shot put and weight throw.Â
- Select distance runners and sprinters will compete at Penn State.Â
- The Bucknell men's team scored 166 points to easily win the Gulden Invitational.Â
- The Bison won six events.Â
- The distance crew fueled the Orange & Blue effort, collecting three of the six victories. Senior Henry Didden paced the mile run with a time of 4:17.91, easily taking home the victory. Mason Barlow recorded a leisurely win in the 3000-meter run, racing 8:47.89, two seconds better than the nearest competition. Ethan Pratt-Perez, Bucknell's shining star during cross country, won the 5000-meter run by over eight seconds with his time of 15:06.21.
- Two other wins occurred during the relays. The 4x400-meter relay "A" Team, consisting of young guns Nicholas Bouril, Colin Burke, Ethan Fianko, and Eamon Golden, blew away the competition with a time of 3:22.88.  The 4x800-meter relay "A" Team matched their counterpart's contribution. The quartet of JP Byrnes, Adam Dicken, Cooper Hollinger, and Carter Paul ran 8:04.10, winning by over six seconds.
- Carter Paul represented the middle distance group with an impressive victory in the 1000-meter run. He edged out a Binghamton runner for first with a time of 2:29.93.Â
- Braiden Pulver finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 55-5.25, moving into fifth place all-time in Bucknell history. Â
- The women's team easily earned first place with a score of 215.5 points.
- The ladies also won six events.Â
- MVP winner Fowler headlined the winning Bison effort, easily shining as the field's best thrower. She conquered the shot put, throwing 44-9.50 in her fourth attempt, establishing a new season best mark. In the weight throw, she led the Orange & Blue's podium sweep, tossing the instrument 56-6.75.Â
- Bucknell's distance group provided two more wins. Grace Vives paced the top four runners, all Bison, by racing 5:02.16, which set a new personal record for the senior distancewoman. Bradley Weldon added another victory to her ledger by winning the 3000-meter run. The Bison runner set a new personal best, logging a time of 10:01.19.Â
- The 4x400-meter relay "A" Team of Piper Portacio, Megan Cain, Grace Camerlingo, and Raygan Lust combined for the winning time of 3:56.76.Â
- Madeline Kerr supplied the win in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.69.Â
