
Track & Field Heads to the Nittany Lion Challenge Tomorrow

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell track & field teams resume competition after the Christmas break by making the scenic journey to Penn State for the annual Nittany Lion Challenge. It will be Bucknell's first action since the Bison Opener on Dec. 5-6. The meet will be streamed on BIG+.Â

Overview
- Bucknell starts its stretch run and preparation for the Patriot League Indoor Championships this weekend. The Nittany Lion Challenge features several regional foes, Saint Francis and Villanova, ACC opponent Pitt, and two Big Ten members, Maryland and Penn State.Â
- The Challenge is the first of two meets at Route 45 Rival Penn State. The Bison will return later this month for the Penn State Open on Jan. 30 and 31.Â
- The Bucknell men's team won five victories and added seven placements in the top ten lists.Â
- Two Bison men moved into the top 10 for the 300-meter dash. Nicholas Bouril began his Bucknell journey by winning the event. The rookie ran 34.57 to move into second place in Bucknell history. Preston Lubeski finished third with a time of 35.40, good enough for eighth in Bison history.Â
- Lucas Williams shined in the pole vault, tying for first by clearing a personal record of 16-4.75 - fourth in Bucknell history.Â
- CJ Simbiri reset his personal best mark of 48-10.75 in the triple jump. The distance easily won the event and improved upon his fifth-best mark in program history.Â
- The Bison women won four events and added six names to the top ten lists.Â
- Alexandra Lea headlined the competition with her win in the 300-meter dash. The speedy sophomore raced 39.29, smashing the facility and school record held by Bucknell legend Meghan Quinn.Â
- Three of her teammates joined her in the 300-meter top ten list. Alison Cooke placed second logging 40.85, improving upon her sixth-best time in school history. Freshman Raygan Lust slotted into seventh place after finishing third with a time of 41.22. Alexa Goll set a new personal record, running 41.41, fourth in the event and eighth in Bucknell history.Â
- Two Bison freshmen sparkled a fire in the 60-meter dash. Grace Camerlingo ran 7.62 for second-place. Her time ranks third in Bucknell history behind legends Meghan Quinn and Katie Salisbury. Piper Portacio also impressed, racing 7.76, for fifth place in the event and eighth in Bison history.
- Camerlingo's time won her Patriot League Women's Rookie of the Week.Â
