Vice Takes Home Bison of the Week After Taking Individual Championship at the Bison Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Katherine Vice was named the Bison of the Week after an impressive outing in the Bucknell Invitational to open fall play for the women's golf team. Vice was the individual champion at 10-over par as the Bison went on to defeat the field as a team by 33 strokes.
Vice sat in the co-lead after the first round, posting a 72 (+2), but dropped down the leader board after shooting a 77 in round two. The junior hung around the top of the leader board during the third round, and carded an eagle on the par-five 15th hole and birdied the 18th to make a run at the leaders.
Vice ultimately entered a friendly playoff with freshman teammate Joelle Johnson, and Vice took the match on the second playoff hole.
Her 71 was a career-low score, and her mark of one-over par matched her career best. Her 72 in the first round was a career-low before beating that mark in the third round.
Bucknell went on to defeat the field by 33 strokes to take the team championship. Bucknell's 590 through the first 36 holes was a school record. The Bison the smashed their program record, carding an 885 to beat the previous mark by 11 strokes.
Bucknell heads to Delaware and the King's Creek Country Club for the Battle of the Creek for a two-day event starting on Monday, September 15.
