LEWISBURG, Pa.- A flurry of three goals in four minutes determined Sunday's afternoon clash at Graham Field at Holmes Stadium. Bucknell (2-2) only scored one of those scores and the Temple Owls (3-1) tallied twice to power its 3-1 victory. The loss dropped Bucknell to 4-8 all-time against its Keystone State rival.Â
Kira Leclercq scored her first goal of 2025 to cut the deficit to 2-1 but Temple almost immediately answered to seal the win. Nicky Punt supplied the assist and moved into tenth all-time in Bucknell history with 17 career assists.Â
For the second straight game, the first half was scoreless. The Bison owned the opening quarter, holding Temple to zero shots. The Owls returned the favor in the second period, shooting six times, and not allowing the Bison a single attempt.Â
The Owls struck for the opening goal in the third quarter. Lucia Magro received the penalty stroke opportunity and neatly deposited it past Sarah Althouse.Â
The three goals in four minutes started when Temple's Mathea LaSalle found a ricochet shot and fired it past Althouse for the 2-0 lead.Â
The Bison added offensive pressure and gained a penalty corner - its third of the game. Bella Notaro inserted the pass, Punt centered it, and Leclercq delivered her trademark furious shot past the goalkeeper.Â
Temple quieted the Bison momentum with a two-on-one breakaway opportunity, as Kathyrn Gauvin received the pass from Peyton Rieger and shot into the open cage for the 3-1 score.Â
Bucknell pressured high but no further goals arrived.Â
