Johnson Earns Patriot League Golfer of the Week After Second Place Finish at Battle at the Creek

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Freshman Joelle Johnson earned this week's Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week announced by the league office on Wednesday. Johnson's six-over par finish in second place led the Bison as they won their second consecutive tournament at the Battle at the Creek at Kings Creek Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Johnson carded a two-over first round, was even par in the second round, and battled back after a rough start in round three to take second place.
After sitting at one-over in the second round on Monday afternoon, Johnson posted a birdie on 15 to finish one-under over the final six holes. In round three, she was five-over through five holes before finishing one-under on the remaining 13 holes.
Johnson is off to a hot start in her debut season after finishing in a tie for first place with fellow teammate Katherine Vice at last week's Bucknell Invitational where she was ten-over par. Johnson lost to Vice after two playoff holes to take second place.
Bucknell won back-to-back tournaments for the first time in team history and are off to Penn State for the Nittany Lion Invitational starting on Sunday.
