SR | Accounting Major | Summer 2025 Assurance-Audit East Intern in New York City
Katie Browne served as a Summer 2025 Assurance-Audit East Intern in New York City over the summer where she was able to learn, network and gain experience in the field of commercial auditing.
The senior worked on a team and assisted them with low level auditioning tasks like preparing forms, obtaining information from the clients, cross referencing excels and tying out financial statements.
"The highlight of my internship was the team I got to work with," said Browne. "They were so welcoming and had so much insight and knowledge to share with me. I really enjoyed working with them and they truly immersed me into what working at EY as a full-time staff member would be like after graduating."
Bucknell prepared Browne for her internship through different classes that directly related to and helped her feel ready and capable throughout her time as an intern.
"School may seem difficult and like you won't use a lot of what you learn in the real world," said Browne. "However, a lot of the things I learned in my classes set me up for success in my internship this summer. My advice; work hard and it will all pay off."
One important aspect of working in commercial audit that Browne took away from her internship was how important it is to have a strong work ethic and to bring a positive attitude daily.
"Opportunities will open left and right when you are excited and willing to help with any task that is thrown your way," said Browne. "This internship helped me solidify that I wanted to get my start in accounting on the auditing side. I really enjoyed the people I was working with and the work I got to do."
Browne will be returning to EY next fall to work in the same field as her internship after graduating from Bucknell.
JR | Finance Major | Corporate Sales and Marketing Intern at MedPharm in Durham, NC
Corbin Callaway spent the summer as a Corporate Sales and Marketing Intern at MedPharm, a company whose CEO, Bill Humphries is a Bucknell Alum. While at MedPharm Callaway gained direct exposure in deal execution, client-facing meetings and market analysis; all of which translated directly to her current work in banking. Sitting in on high-stakes client-facing meetings, analyzing opportunities in the pharmaceutical market and tracking outreach programs taught Callaway how to evaluate companies, manage data and communicate findings effectively.
"I learned so much during my internship at MedPharm," said Callaway. "Primarily how connected the business side of the pharmaceutical landscape is with the scientific side of the industry. I was able to see how closely aligned the market intelligence research and business development strategy was with the research work being done in the labs and how those two elements come together to bring new therapies to market to help patients."
While at MedPharm, Callaway was exposed to the CDMO business model as well as the full sales lifecycle through intensive training and hands-on project work. She also conducted market intelligence research on pharmaceutical companies to identify high-value opportunities. Another aspect of her internship was launching, tracking and analyzing multi-segment outreach campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and reporting key engagement metrics to stakeholders weekly. The junior worked directly on active pharmaceutical deals by compiling target research, preparing analysis and attending strategy meetings with the business development team.
"The best moment of my internship was being able to sit in on meetings with possible clients and be a part of massive deals with other pharma companies," said Callaway. "I was able to be a part of the biggest deal of the year, MedPharm's deal with Harmony Biosciences. After working on the Harmony Biosciences deal, I witnessed how closely related research, client relationships, and deal execution contributed to executing this critical deal. I learned how interconnected the teams need to work together in the moment when they are operating in a high-stakes scenario."
Callaway was able to learn from all of the VP's and Business Directors at MedPharm and was able to go into the labs and watch MedPharm scientists create new drugs that were in the process of being approved by the FDA and see those drugs before they hit the market.
"This experience reinforced how much collaboration is needed from each team within the organization and how important it is to understand the technical and commercial aspect of the business," said Callaway. "It also instilled a confidence in me to work in fast-paced and sometimes high-stress environments where accuracy and attention to detail matter," said Callaway. "All of these experiences support my long-term goal of working within the banking sector as I will evaluate companies, support their transactions, and advise them on strategic finance decision-making."

Caroline served as a Data Management Intern this summer at PGIM Real Estate where she worked closely with the Transactions team and helped them automate their workflows.

She also worked with the Business Management team to help them gather, organize and visualize data that had to do with their Analytics Ambassador program that aimed to expose employees to and train employees on Microsoft Suite Apps and AI.
"A highlight of the experience for me was getting to work with really smart people and learn about commercial real estate private equity investments," said Sheridan.
One of the biggest takeaways for the senior was how much she actually enjoyed working in commercial real estate private equity.
"This was an area that I never pictured myself working in before this summer," said Sheridan. "I loved getting hands-on experience and working with incredibly talented people and it confirmed for me that this is a field that I want to continue pursuing."
Overall, the internship experience as a Data Management Intern at PGIM Real Estate set Sheridan on a more clear path for her future career.

Jess Leon interned at William Morris Endeavor, a leading talent agency spanning music, entertainment, sports and media. Throughout the summer, she worked in WME's Digital Media Department, which supports clients' digital projects across platforms like YouTube, social meda and other online channels.
For the senior, working at the agency was different every single day on the job. Leon supported various agents and assistants with taste such as client support, updating databases, brainstorming ideas and conducting research on both clients and non-clients.
"One of the highlights of my internship was meeting one of the clients, Coco Gauff, when she visited after winning the French Open in June," Leon said. "I also enjoyed hearing updates about some of my favorite celebrities like Adam Sandler and their current projects."
Throughout the internship, Leon discovered that she really enjoys the positive pressure, fast pace and energy of working at an agency.
