Last Time Out (Patriot League Outdoor Championships)
- The Bison finished fourth collecting 86 points and three gold medals.Â
- Alexandra Lea dominated the proceedings. The freshman won gold in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes while setting school records in both events. She also earned Women's Rookie of the Meet - only the third Patriot League freshman to win both the Indoor and Outdoor Rookie of the Meet awards. Lea became the first Bison since Colleen Buckley (5000-meter and 10,000-meter runs) in 2018 to win two gold medals in individual events. The rookie blitzed 53.07 in the 400-meter dash, winning the event by nearly a second, and breaking the old meet record of 54.08 by 1.1 seconds. She delivered in the 200-meter dash via a dramatic comeback victory. She trailed in the final stretch before turning on the afterburners and flying past Boston's Ijeoma Ezechukwu for gold. Her time of 23.53 shattered Bucknell's record of 23.83 set last year by Bison legend Meghan Quinn. The wind meter registered 2.1 or her time would have set the meet record, also owned by Quinn.Â
- Bliss made it 2-for-2 winning gold medals in the javelin throw at the Patriot League Championships. The All-American simply blew away the competition, throwing 53.77m (176-5). The first place toss arrived in her fifth attempt. Bliss won the event by over 19 feet and became the first Bison since Meghan Quinn (2023 & 2024) to notch First Team All-Patriot League honors in back-to-back seasons. She joined Bison legend Maura Fiamoncini as the only Orange & Blue thrower to win multiple gold medals in the javelin. Fiamoncini won gold three times (2018, 2019, and 2021). Only the championships's cancellation by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 prevented her from winning gold four times.
- Bucknell's success in the javelin did not halt with Bliss. The nation's seventh-best group lived up to its press clippings. Brylee Tereska made the NCAA First Round the last two seasons and will head back for a thrice time after winning silver, throwing 47.92m (157-3). The mark earned Tereska her first Patriot League silver medal. She earned bronze in 2023. Madelyn Hudak displayed why non-stop grinding and work pay off. She placed fourth, throwing a personal best 44.19 (144-11). The throw moved her into tenth all-time in Bucknell history, displacing Tayler Siegrist's 144-1 from 2011.
- The Bison impressed in the shot put. Senior captain Christine Ajao won bronze, throwing 14.82m (48-7.50). The mark arrived in her first attempt. Her achievement moved her into eighth in Bucknell history. Rookie Madison Fowler metaphorically bookended the Bison experience, finishing fifth. The freshman threw 14.38m (47-2.25). The mark ranked fifth in Bucknell history.
- Elizabeth Bryant improved her sole possession of second place in Bucknell history for the pole vault by clearing 12-8.25. Her previous standard was 12-6. Bryant placed fifth in the event.Â
Qualified athletes will compete in the NCAA First Round (May 28-31) in Jacksonville, Florida.Â
