ANN ARBOR, Mich.- Bucknell women's water polo (14-10, 4-6 CWPA) dropped a conference match to the No. 13 Harvard Crimson, 18-5 on Saturday afternoon. The Bison immediately fell behind and never had a chance to catch up due to Harvard's potent offense.Â
Harvard scored six goals in the opening period and ran its lead to 4-0 before Gwen Kallmeyer tallied the first of her two scores. Olivia Hopper, Bucknell's leading scorer this season, grabbed a goal, but Harvard converted two more for the 6-2 advantage.Â
Kallmeyer and Finkler each scored a goal in the second quarter in a vain attempt to keep up with the Crimson's output. The Bison trailed 12-4 at halftime.
The Crimson put the game to bed in the third quarter, outscoring the Bison 4-0.Â
Caitlin Stott produced a goal in the final period but Harvard added two more tallies for the 18-5 finale.Â
Bucknell faces No. 20 Brown tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.Â
