Kate Hearns Named in 2025 Inside Lacrosse Freshman Impact Rankings

Lewisburg, Pa. - Kate Hearns has been named to the honorable mention list of Inside Lacrosse's 2025 Freshman Impact Rankings at the end of her first season with the Bison.Â
Hearns played a major role on Bucknell's defense, earning a starting spot right off the bat and maintaining that role in all 16 games for the Bison. She was second on the team in ground balls this season grabbing 33 and was also second on the team in caused turnovers with 25, both behind junior Jess Leon.Â
Hearns was an integral part of the Bucknell defense that improved bounds from last season. The defensive unit allowed just 191 goals in 16 games averaging 11.94 goals against per game this season which is 3.51 goals less than in 2024 where the Bison allowed 232 goals in 15 games and averaged 15.45 goals against per game.Â
The Bison ended their season 6-10 overall and 2-7 in the Patriot League, missing out on the Patriot League Tournament.
