Men's Track & Field Records Two Wins at the Red Flash Open

LORETTO, Pa.- The Bucknell men's track & field finished up its final meet before next weekend's Patriot League Outdoor Championships by sending a select number of athletes to the Red Flash Open on Saturday. The Bison placed fourth out of five teams, scoring 86 points.

Results

Lucas Ward headlined the day by winning the 1500-meter run. The sophomore raced 4:00.82, achieving victory by over three seconds. Grant Kern picked up the second victory in the 3000-meter steeplechase. The junior was the only runner to break the 10-minute mark, recording 9:49.1.

Luis Colmenares-Bittar earned second in the 400-meter hurdles, logging 55.79. Keenan LaMontagne followed suit in the discus, throwing 47.20m (154-10). Robert Lerner became the second Bison thrower to win silver. He threw 14.50m (47-7) in the shot put.

Two Bison finished third in their events. Zachary Jelinek did so in the 800-meter run, dashing 1:55.05. Robert Kossick found bronze in the 110-meter hurdles, racing 15.50.

Joshua Tipton placed fifth (21-6) in the long jump.

Sam Coughlin finished ninth in the 200-meter dash, running 23.58.

The Bison will travel to Holy Cross next weekend for the Patriot League Outdoor Championships.
