Men's Track & Field Sits Fourth After Day One of the Patriot League Championships

WORCESTER, Mass.- Bucknell men's track & field sits in fourth place after the first day of the Patriot League Outdoor Championships. The Bison collected 19 points in the six scored events. Aiden Tacker headlined the day with his silver medal in the hammer throw. Three Bison moved into Bucknell's top ten lists.
Results
Tacker's best throw arrived in his third attempt. The junior thrower delivered a 58.26m (191-2) effort, solidly placing him in position for silver. He became the first Bison since Anthony Zamarra to win Second Team All-Patriot League honors.
Several Bison qualified for tomorrow's finals, led by Brian Scotto's second place finish in the 110-meter hurdles. The senior ran 14.43, moving him into fifth place in Bucknell history. Ethan Knight qualified for the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles finals. He placed eighth (14.82) in the 110 version and fourth (53.76) in the 400 edition. Preston Lubeski was the final qualifier in the 400-meter dash, placing eighth. His time of 48.36 landed him tenth in Bucknell history.
The 4x800-meter quartet of JP Byrnes, Hayden Singer, Ethan Pratt-Perez, and Colby Belczyk combined to finish fourth, racing 7:38.00.
Henry Didden finished fifth in the 10,000-meter run. The junior distanceman ran 31:13.00. He started in 11th place and moved as high as fourth before ending at fifth.
Will Feddeler sits sixth in the decathlon after five events. His best finish came in the high jump where he placed fourth, clearing 6-0.
Garrett Backus's tenth-place finish in the 100-meter preliminaries did not qualify him for tomorrow's finals but his time of 10.62 tied him for fourth in Bucknell history with Martin Carter's mark from 1980.
The Bison complete the Patriot League Outdoor Championships tomorrow. Due to inclement weather, all events have been moved up one hour. Events will now start at 8 a.m.
