Bison Rowing Team Back in Action Saturday at Ford Lake Cup

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell rowing team is on the road Saturday at the Ford Lake Cup, hosted by Eastern Michigan at the Rowing Course at Ford Lake in Ypsilanti. The action gets underway with preliminary heats at 9 a.m., with the finals set for 1 p.m.
Eastern Michigan dedicated a new rowing facility on Ford Lake last spring, and this is the largest regatta the Eagles have hosted. Bucknell will have three Eights and a Four on the water on Saturday, as the Bison continue to gear up for the Patriot League Championships in three weeks. They will have one more tune-up after this week's event, the Women's Sprints in Worcester, Mass., on May 4.
Most recently, the Bison turned in a strong showing at the Knecht Cup two weeks ago on the Cooper River. All four Bucknell boats reached the Grand Finals and finished in the top five. The Varsity Four and Second Varsity Eight both finished in third place, and the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Four both finished fifth.
