
Women's Tennis Defeats Lafayette 6-1 on Saturday

Easton, Pa. - Bucknell women's tennis swept doubles play and continued their dominance in singles to defeat Lafayette 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Bison improved to 10-10 overall and 3-4 in the Patriot League with the win.Â
The match began with doubles play where the Bison went 3-0. Whitney King and Abby Platt defeated Olivia Boeckman and Alyssa Perdomo 6-2 on Court 1. This doubles win earned W. King a share of third place all time in Bucknell history for doubles wins with 80. Caroline Marcus and Riley Jennings defeated Alexandra Wldman and Marie Sofia Romaniello 6-2 on Court 2 and Camering King and Jaycie Mair wrapped up the Bison's doubles play defeating Ally Bauer and Stella Dodd 6-4 on Court 3. WIth a 3-0 doubles feat, Bucknell took the first point of the match.Â
Singles play began with Platt earning another point for Bucknell by defeating Waldman in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Jaycie Mair then defeated Romaniello 6-3, 6-2 on Court 5 and Riley Jennings took her Court 6 match over Paraskebi Briegel 6-1, 6-1. Lafayette was able to take the match on Court 3 to make the score 4-1. On Court 1, W. King defeated Perdomo in a hard fought battle in three sets and Tori Allen defeated Bauer on Court 4 7-5, 6-1, earning Bucknell a 6-1 victory over the Leopards.Â
The next time the Bison take the courts will be for the Patriot League Tournament which begins on Thursday, April 24. The Bison's first match will be determined once the seeds are set.
