Women's Tennis Falls to Loyola (Md.) in Tight 4-3 Match

BALTIMORE, Md. — Bucknell women's tennis fell to Loyola (Md.) in a tight 4-3 match on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Bison fell to 7-8 overall and 0-3 in the Patriot League.
The match opened with the Greyhounds going 3-0 in doubles play and securing the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. Loyola (Md.) then took the first two singles matches as it won in both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, taking a 3-0 lead.
Tori Allen earned Bucknell its first point of the match as she defeated Matriccino in comeback fashion 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 3 spot. Mirra Manolov then took her match in the No. 4 spot over Epps 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 to bring it to a 3-2 scoreline, with the Greyhounds still in the lead.
Despite Natalie Devraj winning the final singles match of the afternoon at the No. 6 spot over Shivkumar 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-0, the Bison ultimately fell as Roeck clinched the match with a win at the No. 5 spot over Cameron King to earn Loyola (Md.) a narrow 4-3 victory.
Bucknell women's tennis will next take to the courts on Sunday, March 22 at 11 a.m. as they head to Annapolis, Md. to face Navy.
